Lyle E. Salava
Lyle E. Salava, age79, went to be with his Lord Jesus on February 24, 2014.
He was born in Mazomanie on October 30, 1934 and lived there all of his life except when he served his country in the army. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers and trying to make a nickel at Ho Chunk. He enjoyed working with his flowers and walking and enjoying his land along the Wisconsin River.
He married his wife Edna on October 30, 1971. He was an EMT for District I Mazomanie and Black Earth for 21 years. He was a member of the Mazomanie Lions since October 1963 and life-time member of the Midland United Methodist Church as well as their men’s group. He served on the Village of Mazomanie Board and Police Commission for many years. He started and managed the Klein Dickert picture framing shop and wild life gallery for 30 years before retiring in 1997 to take care of his wife Edna. He became friends with many wildlife artists including Owen J. Gromme.
Survivors include a brother, Robert (Lorraine) Salava, sister-in-law Mary (Richard) Salava, a niece, Cindy (EJ) Weinberger, two nephews, Tim (Sandi) Salava, and David (Tina) Salava, great nieces Sara, Katie, Brynn and Megan Salava, great nephews Brandon and Derek Weinberger, a step-son Robert (Linda) Rubsha and a special granddaughter Jaime Rubsha. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elsie Salava, wife Edna, and brother Richard (Mary) Salava.
A memorial service will be held at MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 10235 CTH KP, Mazomanie, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, with Pastor Ann Scott officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Barnabas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Midland United Methodist Church.
