Lucille M. Christianson
MADISON/STOUGHTON-Lucille M. Christianson, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at her home at Harmony Living Center in Stoughton, with her loving husband, Arlo, at her side. She was born on March 28, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of Leo and Lillian (Jothen) Hehn. She was united in marriage to Arlo Christianson on June 10, 1950. Together they made their home in Madison in a home that Arlo built for his family, and were blessed with three children. They moved to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri in 1986, and returned to Wisconsin in 2006. Lucille worked for more than 20 years for the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Madison before moving to Lake of the Ozarks, where they joined Kent Memorial Lutheran Church in Laurie, Missouri. They returned to Wisconsin and became members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oregon. Lucille enjoyed cooking, baking, making crafts, ceramics, traveling and was proud to be president of the Fireflies.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arlo; son, Dale (Jan) Christianson; daughters, Debra (Terry) Sumwalt and Kathy (Ken) Friday; grandchildren, Sheli (Mark) Asleson, Heather (Gary) Wieble, Travis (Dawn) Christianson, Spencer Christianson, Tom (Jen) Sumwalt, Stacy (Ben) Shever, Kaiser Christianson, and Mallory Christianson; five great-granddaughters; sister, Louise (Charles) Schwenk and their children, Pam Wipperfurth and Renee Grimesey; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, with Chaplain Thomas Moe presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 402 Gammon Place Suite #110, Madison, WI 53719.
