Louise B. Brandenburg

Louise passed away at her home on March 30th at the age of 92. She was born on November 24, 1924 to Peter and Christine Lucht in LaValle, WI. After graduating high school in Milwaukee, she enrolled and graduated from the Milwaukee County School of Nursing. Her class developed life-long friendships enjoying many social gatherings. They have continued to send Round Robin letters to this day.

Louise enlisted as a nurse in the Air Force spending three years overseas in London where she helped deliver babies and through her sister Renata, in the Army Corp, she added new lifetime friends in England and Wales. Throughout her nursing career she also worked in pediatrics and with the elderly in local nursing homes.

She met her husband, Herman, in Madison, they were married February 22, 1958, and just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. She was blessed with three loving children and 3 much desired grandchildren. To those who knew Louise, she was often described as sweet, kind and a treasured friend.

Louise is survived by her husband, Herman; children, Kathleen, Kristine Johnson (Don), and Mark (Sue); grandchildren, Nina, Nathan, and Nicholas; sister, Marjory Preston; brother, William Lucht (Helen); nieces and nephews and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Edward, Leo, and John; sisters Trudy, Leota and Renata; sisters-in-law Patricia and Sarah; nephew William, Jr. and mother-in-law, Mabel Brandenburg.

At the end of her life Louise was blessed with 24 hour loving care by her children along with Agrace Hospice Home Care, to whom the family is incredibly grateful for their excellent care and counsel.

A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road in Madison on April 22, 2017, at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to the time of service.
