Louis E. “Louie” Spink
STOUGHTON-Louis E. “Louie” Spink, age 80, of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Stoughton Hospital. He was born on March 2, 1932, in Oregon, the twin son of Lyman and Elizabeth (Brown) Spink.
Louie graduated from Oregon High School, and was drafted into the U.S. Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955. Louie married Delena Payne on Aug. 30, 1958, in Soldier’s Grove. He retired from the DNR Conservation Department after 34 years of service. Louie was a great outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Delena of Stoughton; twin sister, Lois Faulkes of Marion; brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Spink and John (Paulette) Spink, both of McFarland ; sister, Nancy (Don) Smith of Janesville; sisters-in-law, Arlene Spink of Oregon, Vicki Spink of Houston, Texas, Elaine Gaston of Waterloo, Iowa, Orva Payne of Prairie du Chien, and Norma (Don) Richmond of Oregon; brothers-in-law, Wayne Payne of Livingston and Stephen (Connie) Payne of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Paul; sister, Elaine Bloomer; brothers-in-law, Forest Faulkes, Don Gaston, and Vilas Payne; and sister-in-law, Janet Payne.
Funeral services will be held at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012, with the Rev. Paul Markquart presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Stoughton Hospital or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
