Lonnie E. Christianson, 68, of rural Coon Valley passed away November 1st at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Lonnie was born on August 8th, 1949 to Gerald and Myrtle (Iverson) Christianson at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He graduated from Westby High School in 1968 where he excelled at football. He went on to serve in the United States Army in June 1969. He was discharged in 1971 as a result of an injury during the Vietnam War.

On October 5th,, 1974 he married Vicki Mikkelson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua, WI.

Lonnie’s happiest times were spent enjoying time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved playing cards, golfing, and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He spent his entire career supporting his family as a carpenter; and was always willing to help his family with their building projects.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Erin (Bobby) Johnson of La Crosse and their children Hannah and Ava; two sons, Brady (Amanda) Christianson of La Crosse and their children Paige, Owen, and Katelyn; Brian (Jaimie) Christianson of Coon Valley and their children Payton and Avery. He is further survived by seven brothers: Merlin, Burton (Connie), Ronnie (Diane), David (Cheryl), Danny (Becky), Dennis (Cindy), and Jerry (Shari); and six sisters, Linda Beck, Donna Sapuder, Sheila (Glen) Benson, Colleen (Dan) DeGarmo, Rhonda (Bill) Juntunen, and Julie Seiler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Loren; and two sisters, Carol McDonald and Janet Erickson; Also Chet McDonald, Kenny Beck, Tom Erickson, Steve Sapuder, Steve “Teo” Seiler, Barb and Kathy Christianson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Daniel Wollman will officiate with entombment at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
