Lois Glenore Meyer
Lois Meyer, age 90 of Stoughton, Wisconsin, formerly of Oxford, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with her loving daughter by her side on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Reverend David Brynelson officiating. Burial will be at the Oxford Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Lois was born February 3, 1922 in Hayward, Wisconsin the daughter of Erwin and Carrie (Towne) Brickman. She married Christian Meyer on December 16, 1945. Lois had helped operate a gasoline and service station for many years with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, gardening and helping with Lions Club activities in Oxford. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lois is survived by a son, Erwin “Butch” (Linda) Meyer of Oxford; a daughter, Darlene (Randy) Burton of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Darin (Rachel) Meyer, Travis (Amanda) Burton, Eric (Traci) Meyer and Courtney (Kunal) Raina; and great grandchildren, Avery, Colin, Riley, Adler and Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bob; and a sister, June Wingler.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Skaalen staff and residents for the care, concern and compassion that was not only given to Lois but to all of the family in these past years. “Your kindness and personal little touches made many a bleak day bearable. In addition a special thank you to her care team at Agrace Hospice. For almost 3 years you guided us through the many ups and downs of Lois’s long journey to the eternal peace she so truly deserved. Lastly a special thanks to Bev and Jackie for the joy your regular visits brought to her. And to Steve and Denise, there are not enough words to adequately tell you how much your friendship and devotion to Lois and the rest of the family is treasured.”
