The Lodi Police Department said it has received several reports of fox sightings.

In a Facebook post, police said a fox should not alarm people but homeowners should not store pet food outside or provide food and water for other wildlife.

The post also included a photo of what the police called a “healthy juvenile fox” that was scared off.

Officials recommend keeping cats indoors and watching dogs and other pets when they’re outside to protect a pet from a fox.
