Local pet walkers provide breaks for dogs during the day

With many of us back to working in the office, traveling more often and leaving furry friends home alone for extended periods of time, pandemic pups may be in need of companionship. It’s recommended that dogs get between 30 minutes and two hours of exercise a day, so that’s when a professional dog-walking service may come in handy.
Ryan Plaice founded Paw Pals five years ago, offering both dog-walking services and pet sitting. Plaice says the benefits of his services include draining your dogs of excess energy and giving them a bathroom break in the middle of the day.
“Dog walks stimulate their mind, not just their bodies,” Plaice says. “They will get to smell, see, feel and hear all types of arousing things when out on a walk.”
Plaice says that daily walks, especially for younger dogs, can help your companion build socialization skills and adjust to everyday objects. Paw Pals offers 15-, 30- and 60-minute walks up to five days a week, but there are also options for weekends and after hours.
In addition to Paw Pals, numerous other dog-walking services in Madison will stop at your home to take your dog outside. A few others include: Out-U-Go! Pet Care, Paws & Claws Pet Service, Dog Gone Walkers LLC, DogMa, Tails and Trails, Take Paws and Green Dog LLC.
