Local man donates one million pop tabs to Ronald McDonald House
The donation was made to honor his late wife
MADISON, Wis. — Randolph Sievert drove two hours Wednesday morning with some special cargo: Over a million pop tabs.
Sievert donated the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House, which helps parents with sick children in the hospital.
He began collecting tabs 13 years ago with his wife, who passed away from cancer in 2010. He says she was a big believer in the non-profit.
Wednesday’s donation equaled 985 pounds. If you laid out the tabs, they could cover 16 miles.
