Local jewelry and home store coming to Madison’s east side
Modern Talisman will be on Winnebago Street
Modern Talisman LLC, a new Madison jewelry, home goods and gift store, is gearing up to open its doors on Winnebago Street Dec. 7.
Husband-and-wife team Ramsey Finger and Melita Mullen are opening Modern Talisman in the same block as Mint Mark, a release said. Finger previously owned two local bead stores, The Blue Bead and Jade Mountain Bead Co.
The small shop will have artist-made jewelry, home accessories from around the world and vintage finds. The release said all things “well-made, well-traveled or well-worn will find a home at Modern Talisman.”
Some of the items include Thai hill tribe silver jewelry, a wide selection of Hindu and Buddhist amulets, beads and malas, blankets and flea-market finds from the United States, Asia and other places in the world.
“After receiving enthusiastic feedback as a vendor at local festivals over the past couple of years, Modern Talisman is excited to open the doors of its first brick-and-mortar store in Madison’s most vibrant neighborhood,” Finger says. “We look forward to bringing new energy and uncommon objects to the Madison community.”
Modern Talisman is opening Dec. 7 to coincide with the Atwood Winter Festival. After the opening, the store will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. During the warmer months, the owners plan to expand the hours.
