MADISON, Wis. — Some big names will be joining Steve Stricker and two-time defending champion Jerry Kelly when the 2022 AmFam Championship tees off next week.
A total of 81 PGA Tour champions — including seven members of the World Golf Hall of Fame — will be in the field of golfers for this year’s tournament, which begins June 10 at University Ridge Golf Course.
Among the familiar names in the field will be Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Jim Furyk, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Davis Love III, Retief Goosen, Colin Montgomerie and Vijay Singh, while new faces will include Stuart Appleby, David Duval, José Maria Olazabel and Y.E. Yang.
“We have a strong field, a beautiful and challenging course and great fans to enjoy it all,” tournament director Nate Pokrass said in a statement announcing the 2022 field.
Wisconsin natives Skip Kendall and Mario Tiziani will also play in the tournament under sponsor’s exemptions.
The AmFam Championship will also bring a number of other events to the Madison area, including Pro-Am competitions, a 5K Run/Walk, charity concert, a celebrity foursome — including Brett Favre and Baseball Hall of Famer Derek Jeter — in addition to the three days of tournament play.
