Lisa L. Hunter
PORTAGE-Lisa L. Hunter, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. She was born on June 16, 1973, in Madison, the daughter of LeRoy and Candice (Brereton) Nelson. Lisa graduated from Madison East High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Concordia University. She married Thomas Hunter on Nov. 5, 1999. Lisa worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue. She had a variety of interests, but especially enjoyed yard work and antiquing. Lisa was a devoted and energetic mother, always traveling with her kids to activities and events. She will be remembered for many things, but most of all for always offering a helping hand to those in need.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Matt Statz, Hannah, and Chase; father, LeRoy (Sheila) Nelson; mother, Candice Nelson; father-in-law, Thomas Hunter; mother-in-law, Lorraine (Luke) Herring; sisters, Denise, Cheryl, and Sara M. Nelson; step-brothers, Benjamin (Brenda) Hunt and Nickolas (Angie) Hunt; brothers-in-law, Terry Knoll and Tim Hunter; aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond Nelson, Rita Tony, and Sylvester (Grace) Brereton.
Funeral services will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main Street, Lodi, at Noon on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, and also from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
Lisa was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
