Linda L. Kelly
MADISON-Linda L. Kelly, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her home.
She was born on May 29, 1941, in Blue River, the daughter of Charles and Wilma (Standish) Kalish. Linda graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1959. During her marriage to Roger Schluter they had five children, Dianna, Laurie, Jeffrey, David and Lisa. She married Raymond Kelly on Nov. 20, 1968, and together they had a daughter, Linda Sue. Linda and Ray moved to Glennallen, Alaska in the late 1960’s.
She worked different jobs, including in-home daycare; where there were always kids in the house. Linda was also an active volunteer with many organizations. Linda and Ray moved back to Wisconsin in 1989. Throughout her life, Linda enjoyed, crocheting, sewing, crafts, porcelain dolls, flowers, her dogs, antiques, craft shows, and garage sales with her sisters and brother. She also enjoyed family trees and genealogy, and especially spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her children, Dianna Wimble, Laurie (Scott) Olson, Jeffrey (Diane) Schluter, David (Laurie) Schluter, Lisa Butler and Linda Sue (Len) Kolman; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; adopted son, Adam Speerstra, who still lives in Alaska; siblings, Norma (Jim) Rolli, Denis (Sheila) Kalish, Colleen (Frank) Rick, Carol (Mike) Smith, Debra Kalish, Janeen (Jim) Ash and Kami Kalish; many nieces, nephews and other relatives; the last two children she cared for, Maddie and Katelynn Green; and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond on June 17, 2007.
Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, with the Rev. Matt Kruse presiding.
