“Lily’s Luau” provides respite from cold
Event raises money for epilepsy research at UW24122284
MADISON, Wis. — Around 700 people took a much-needed break the cold on Saturday night to at least pretend they were in more tropic climes by attending a luau.
The event was the 6th annual “Lily’s Luau,” held at Union South.
“Lily’s Luau” raises money for epilepsy research at the UW.
Statistics show that one out of every 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.
Organizers say the continued outpouring of support for the event is overwhelming.
“As a parent of a daughter who lives with epilepsy, it is just so heartening, so encouraging, to see this many people having such a joyful time raising money for epilepsy research here at our university,” said Dave Giroux. “It’s just great.”
