Lillian Evelyn Olsen
MADISON — Lillian Evelyn Olsen, age 87, was born to eternal life on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Agrace Hospice, surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 15, 1925, to William and Nellie Franz. Lillian was raised on farm in WI and graduated high school at Fall River. She married her sweetheart, Warren C. Olsen, after he returned from serving in WWII, on May 19, 1946. Lillian was noted as a seamstress at Sears, leading the drapery work room. She was a member of the Madison Sewing Guild. Lillian had an extensive collection of thimbles, dolls, and hats. After retirement, she was known for her outstanding quilt work. Warren and Lillian were both life time active members of Bashford United Methodist Church. Lillian was a devoted wife, caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her love was sewn into many lives.
Lillian is survived by children; Dr. Richard Olsen and Lavonne (Mark) Tice; grandchildren, Tristan (Kathryn) Tice, Timothy (Robyn) Tice and Aaron (Stephanie) Tice; great grandchildren, William Tice, Sophia Tice and Cecilia Tice; siblings, Reuben (Florence) Franz, Myrtle Bergeman, Gerry Franz and Rachel (Charles) Witte. Further survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Warren; son Brian Olsen; and sister Joyce Crossen.
A service will be held at BASHFORD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 329 North St, Madison, on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Francis R. Deaner officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
