Leslie R. “Fossil” Schlunz Sr.
MONONA-Leslie R. “Fossil” Schlunz Sr., age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012. He was born on July 23, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Ernest Jr. and Loretta (Horn) Schlunz. Les married Carol Luker in October 2002, in Reno, Nev. Throughout the years, he worked for UW Food Research, Sitel, J.R.’s Direct Source Auto, and was a farmer. Les was an avid collector of everything.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Luker; two children, Les Jr. (Rebecca) and Kristie (Rachel) Mueller; grandson, Keith (Connie); great-grandchildren, Lexus and Jayden; stepchildren, Kip (Beth) Luker, Karyn (Tom) German, and Kirk (Megan) Luker; many step grandchildren; sister, Wanda Brandt; brother, Gary Schlunz; and mother of his children, Nancy Schlunz. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Nathan.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.
