Bowen Close of Bowen Appetit offers an Italian Date Night (February 13) class at FEED Kitchens. where you will learn how to wrap dates in prosciutto and stuff them with chevre, prepare a wintry salad of shaved fennel and orange, make spinach risotto with lemon and nutmeg and top off the evening by creating a salted chocolate torte with crème fraiche whipped cream.
Sure, you could be makin’ whoopee this Valentine’s Day weekend, or you could be Makin’ Bacon with your best guy or gal over at The Conscious Carnivore. Master butcher Dave Gathy is offering up some bacon education (February 12) around his table while you enjoy beer, wine, coffee or a bottle of Wisco Pop. Learn how to cure and season a slab of bacon your own way–something Korean, perhaps? Or maybe Italian? Gathy will then smoke it and Cryovac seal it for you to pick up later.
