Leaders commemorate wrap-up of University Avenue construction

MIDDLETON, Wis. — Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and several Middleton city officials got together Wednesday to unveil the reconstructed University Avenue, according to a press release from the office of the Dane County executive.
The massive construction product extended from Park Street to Allen Boulevard, costing $3 million. The money went to replacing worn and crumbling pavement, gutters and curbs, as well as creating a bike path extending to Pheasant Branch Trail. Dane County and the city of Middleton provided equal funding for the project
According to the release, there is a second phase of the project planned, with a projected start date in 2019, with Middleton Mayor Gurdip Brar stating that he is committed to extending the University Avenue project further west into Middleton.
