Lawrence J. Schwartz
Lawrence J. Schwartz, age 85, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Roxbury Township on December 14, 1926, the son of the late Andrew and Claudia (Ganser) Schwartz. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Evert on May 5, 1953 at St. John Lutheran Church, Leland. They farmed in the Honey Creek area for many years. Lawrence was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Leland. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and liked to visit with area farmers.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; a son, Larry (Cindy) Schwartz of Prairie du Sac; a daughter, Sandra (Butch) Boettcher of Prairie du Sac; four grandchildren, Carrie (Joe) Stoebner of Sauk City, Mike (fiance, Courtney) Schwartz of Lodi, Tim Boettcher and Scott Boettcher both of Prairie du Sac; a brother, Harold (Mary Ann) Schwartz of Waunakee; 7 sisters, Viola Gruber of Prairie du Sac, Armella Meffert of Waunakee, Laura Endres of Waunakee, Arlene Williams of Lodi, Caroline (Bud) Ederer of Sauk City, Ella (Vern Akins) Mulcahy-Akins of Madison and Dorothy (Clarence) Mougin of Dane; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister; an infant son; 5 brothers-in-law, Harold Gruber, Stanley Meffert, Harold Endres, Dick Williams and Ray Mulcahy.
A funeral service will be held at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, Leland, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 with Pastor Erich Hartenberger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012.
