LaVerne Lewis Green
LaVerne Lewis Green, age 86, passed away on January 4, 2018.
He was born on September 9, 1931, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the son of Guy and Beatrice (LaBelle) Green. LaVerne attended schools at Lake Geneva and Rice Lake and graduated from Rice Lake High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1952 and served his country during the Korean Conflict. LaVerne married Ruth Ann Mallo on October 26, 1957 at Shell Lake, Wisconsin. He was a carpenter and helped build many of the houses in Lodi and the surrounding communities. LaVerne was a member of the Lodi United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #216 Lodi. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening but most importantly spending time with his family and friends in fellowship.
LaVerne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann; his three sons, Mark (Cindy) Green, Kelly (Barb) Green and John (Sally) Green; grandsons, Jason (Caly) Green, Chad (Michele) Green and Travis Green; granddaughters, Abby (Leo) Taylor, and Bailey Green (Grant Neuens); great grandsons, Dylan Green, Kyle Green, Logan Green, Lucas Green, Avery Taylor and Max Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Beatrice and his sister Leora Green Hall.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lodi United Methodist Church, 130 Locust St., Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with Reverend Marjorie Rice Myers presiding. Military Rites will be held after the service. A luncheon and time to visit and share memories will be held at the church following the service.
