Laura “Kate” Loy
Laura Katherine “Kate” Loy, age 90, of Dodgeville passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bloomfield Healthcare & Rehab following a brief illness. Kate was born on January 27, 1927 in Dodgeville to Wilbur and Laura (Cutler) Evans. She married Emmett V. Loy Sr. in Savannah, IL on June 30 1953. Kate worked for many years at Bloomfield Manor in the nursing field. She enjoyed horseback riding in her younger years, camping at Minocqua, traveling with her best friend Bev James and holding Grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett on May 11, 1983; a son, Garry Evans; two grandsons, Greg Kitsemble and Cody Loy; a great-granddaughter, Kendell Loy; a brother, Wilbur “Unkie” Evans; a half-brother, Harold “Hap” Evans and a half-sister, Wilma Johnston.
Kate is survived by thirteen children, Sharon (George) Kitsemble; Jeff (Mel) Loy; Myrna (Henry) Schaaf; Idell (Don) Myers; Mike (Pam) Loy; Patty (Rich) Reinke; Linda (Curtis) Moriva; Tim (Yvette) Loy; Randy (Chalette) Loy; Emmett (Beth) Loy Jr.; Wendy Loy (Pat Mobley); Tammie (Steve) Winkers and Marc (Marcia) Loy; a daughter-in-law, Donna Evans;
41 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Generose Evans and Edna Loy as well as 23 nieces and nephews and many friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Friday.
Kate’s family would like thank Dr. Grunow, the Staff at Bloomfield Healthcare, Upland Hills Hospice and all the family and friends who brought joy to her life.
