Laura A. Reuter
Laura A. Reuter, age 93, of Prairie du Sac, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2017 at Maplewood Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Sauk City on July 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Pings) Baier.
She was united in marriage to Carl Reuter on October 28, 1940; he preceded her in death December 14, 1989. Together they farmed in Prairie du Sac for many years. Laura was employed and enjoyed her work as a caretaker for the St. Aloysius and Sauk City Cemeteries from 1973 until her retirement in 1987, at which time she stayed home and took care of Carl.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four children, Sandy (Chuck) Pohlman of Roxbury, Darcy (Dan) Hetzel of Plain, Denny (Panda) Reuter of Sauk City and Brian (Patti) Reuter of Prairie du Sac; eight grandchildren John and Craig (Vicki) Gieck, Bill Hetzel, Barb (Brian) Schultz, Deb (Dan) Paulus, Chad (Cassie) Reuter, Gary (Vickie) Reuter and Nikki (Jeremy) Chrisler; twelve great grandchildren; a brother Norbert Baier, in-laws Pat Baier, Audrey Schutz and Don (Marlene) Reuter, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Alice Faye; six brothers, Marvin, Arthur, Leonard, Gerard, Edwin and Werner; two sisters, Cora and Marie and three grandchildren, Denise, Darla and Rod Gieck and numerous in-laws.
A private service will be held with internment in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Laura’s family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood for their loving care of Laura.
