Larry Ziegler, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. He was born on May 23, 1950, son of Lyle and Doris (Lawrence) Ziegler. Larry graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1968, and worked on the family farm. Up until the time of his passing one of Larry’s favorite pastimes was still spring planting and fall harvesting. He married Patricia Jensen on June 28, 1969. They raised two children and were married for 23 years. In the mid 70’s Larry purchased his first semi and started his own business Z & Z Trucking. Throughout his life Larry had many different semis and employees of Z & Z trucking. He was an owner operator for over 30 years and spent many years over the road. Larry retired in 2008 and moved to Titusville, Fla. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. During quiet times he loved to pick up a good book and he could not put it down until it was finished. Larry’s greatest passion was the Green Bay Packers. Through the wins and the losses throughout the years Larry could always be found supporting the Pack.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (Jason) Mikula of Sun Prairie and Lonny Ziegler of Lodi; mother, Doris Ziegler of Sun Prairie; siblings, Sharon Martin of DeForest, Dan Ziegler of Sun Prairie, Linda Nellen of Sun Prairie, and Connie Ziegler of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Chase and Conor Mikula and many nieces/nephews and grand nieces/nephews; Larry had many friends throughout his life and we would like to especially thank those who were recently a large part of his life in Titusville Fl. “Lord please keep our Dad safe as he travels his last miles Let your presence guide him and bring him a smile Take care of him while he is away Let him know we will miss him each and every day Steer him clear of danger as he crosses the country alone Put him in your hands lord, keep him safe and take him home.” LOVE YOU DAD
