Larry Alan Beloungy

Larry Alan Beloungy

Larry Beloungy, age 72, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Larry was born on October 16, 1944 to the late Albert and Ruth (Carpenter) Beloungy. He grew up in Prairie du Sac and later relocated to DeForest after meeting his second wife, Janice Ripp. Prior to moving to DeForest, Larry was married to Janet Stasaitis, and together they raised two sons, Gregg and Jared.

Larry was employed for 35 years by the State of Wisconsin, where he was a maintenance mechanic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Larry had an avid interest in riding cross country on his motorcycle with Janice, building and flying a single engine plane, square dancing and wood working. If something could be imagined being made of wood, Larry could figure out how to build it. Larry shared his love of wood-working with his children and grandchildren.

Larry married Janice (Steinbach) Ripp on May 5, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada on the same day as Jan’s daughter, Theresa and her soon to be husband, Gary, were married. Larry married into a large immediate family that included seven children, seven spouses and eventually 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Larry embraced this new family and they embraced him too.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janice; son, Jared; step-children, Greg Ripp, Theresa (Gary) Schlub, Laurie (Lyle) Buchner, Toni Ripp, Joe (Wendy) Ripp, Ron (Michelle) Ripp and Mary (Kevin) Hamilton; 14 grandchildren, Mat, Darcy, Corina, Amy, Garrett, Emily, Jade, Nikki, Josh, Racheal, Mason, Kendra, Cole and Taylor; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Braysen and Mavis; brothers, Russell (Kathy), Paul (Marsha), Harry (Nancy), Ron (Jane), Steve; and a sister, Jeannie (Fred) Jackson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregg; step-son, David; step-daughter in-law, Tina; many aunts, uncles and friends.
