Central segment on Interstate 39/90 will be focus of Tuesday meeting
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A public-involvement meeting is scheduled Tuesday to look at the central segment of the Interstate 39/90 expansion project, according to a Department of Transportation release.
The central segment runs from the Dane and Rock county line to County Road O, which is south of Janesville, officials said.
The project will expand Interstate 39/90 to eight lanes from County Road O to the Highway 26 interchange and to six lanes from Highway 26 to the Dane and Rock county line, according to the release. Interchanges that will be reconstructed include highways 11, 14, 26 and 59.
The interchange designs will be shown at the meeting, along with details on the proposed noise walls in Janesville, officials said. The improvements are part of the expansion project from the Illinois state line to the Highway 12/18 interchange near Madison.
The meeting is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express at 3100 Wellington Place in Janesville, according to the release. A brief presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m.
