Lancaster wins Divison 3 state golf title.
The Lancaster Flying Arrows won their first state golf title Tuesday by talking home the Division 3 title. Edgewood took second in Division 2.
Lancaster finished runners up in 2013, but they win the 2014 Division 3 state title, beating Osseo-Fairchild by 23 shots.
Senior Zach Hentrich finished second individually to lead the Flying Arrows. Lancaster’s two-day total was 627.
“I am just proud of our guys. It was an unbelievable team effort and feels great to be on top. Being the team to put Lancaster golf on the map is an incredible feeling,” said Hentrich.
“Hard work pays off. Hard work equals success and they bought into that and the mental game these guys played is unbelievable. Coming in with an eight-stroke lead didn’t rattle them at all. They just played even better today and very proud of this group,” said head coach Brad Sturmer.
Edgewood finished second as a team in Division 2. They had the lead after Day 1 but fell by seven shots to Waukesha Catholic Memorial. The Crusaders were lead by Tommy Mohs and Johnny Decker, who finished sixth and eighth respectively.
