Lancaster man dies after motorcycle crash near Shullsburg

SHULLSBURG, Wis. – A Lancaster man died Saturday afternoon, after a motorcycle crash near Shullsburg.

Lafayette Co. Sheriff’s officials say William Harris, 54, was traveling north on County Highway O just before 4:45 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Harris laid the motorcycle down and slid into a nearby ditch.

Harris was flown by UW Medflight to UW Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Officials say Harris was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Lafayette Co. Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, this is the fifth motor vehicle fatality in Lafayette Co. this year.
