Lafayette County sheriff not seeking reelection
Pedley plans to serve out his term
DARLINGTON, Wis. — Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley said Tuesday he will not seek reelection this year.
Pedley said he will serve out the remainder of his term ending on Jan. 5, 2015. He will have served in law enforcement for 35 years by the end of the term.
“It has been an absolute honor and privilege to serve in this capacity the past 24 years,” Pedley said in a release.
Pedley said he’s leaving at a time that the sheriff’s office is running smoothly.
“We are having much success in the area of solving crimes and impacting our community in positive ways – all of which is a credit to a great team of deputy sheriffs and support staff who do so much each and every day for the citizens they serve.”
In his statement, Pedley noted that he is healthy, not unhappy about anything and wants to move on to other interests and spend time with his family.
