Koreen Kay Kuehn
CROSS PLAINS-Koreen “Kay” Kuehn, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, with her loving family and dogs by her side.
She was born on January 30, 1944 in Madison, the daughter of Dr. Everett and LaRose Olson. Kay was a graduate of Middleton High School. She was united in marriage to Joe Kuehn on Jan. 23, 1964. Together they raised their family and started Plastic Ingenuity. He preceded her in death in 1995. Kay worked at her father’s dental office as a dental assistant. Kay was owner and manager of Smoke Tree Horse Farms. She enjoyed an “occasional” ride to Ho-Chunk in her convertible with license plate –Slots 10. Kay loved to garden with her dogs who were her constant companions. She truly treasured most the time spent at home with her family and friends.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Kristi Kuehn, Kerri (Jeff) Sarbacker and Bridget Handel; her grandchildren, Zach Halom, Justin, Jordyn and Jaron Sarbacker, Mason and Kayden Handel; an honorary granddaughter, Brittany Christian; her twin sister, Kathy (Craig)Lowell; her sisters Jeanne Hillebrand and Karen (David) Lange. In addition to her husband, Joe Kuehn, Kay was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judith OIson and her in-laws, Al and Rosella Kuehn.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with date and time to be announced. Private burial was held in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Cross Plains.
