Kevin Michael Kurtz
MADISON – Kevin Michael Kurtz, age 50, of Madison, Wis., left this mortal coil on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
He was born on April 25, 1970, in Wauwatosa, Wis., where he became the son of Tom and Carolyn Kurtz. Kevin attended West High School in Madison and Madison College obtaining his associate degree in IT Help Desk Support. He worked as a contractor for the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections as a Help Desk Support Specialist.
Kevin was a kid at heart and he loved all things intricate, like puzzling through new computer builds, DJ mixing music and he was an accomplished speed cuber. He could solve a three-by-three cube (like Rubik’s) in under 12 seconds, and his best time ever was seven seconds. He made everyone laugh whether they were 2 years old or 80. He knew something about everything and looked into any and every factoid he heard.
Kevin is survived by his children, Cameron and Rhiannon Kurtz; his father, Tom Kurtz; sister, Marci Paulsen; brother-in-law, Chris Paulsen; nephews, Zack, Nick, Griffin and Beckett; and partner, Becky Powley and her children, Molly-Jo Meixner and Madden and Macaden Douma.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Kurtz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Kevin’s name to Madison’s Youth Arts Center.
