Kenseth Leaving Roush-Fenway Racing
Association Will End After 14 Seasons
Matt Kenseth will be leaving the Roush-Fenway Racing team at the end of the current NASCAR Sprint Cup season.
Kenseth has been driving for team owner Jack Roush for the last 14 years.
Only Jeff Gordon’s association with team owner Rick Hendrick has been longer than Kenseth’s been with Jack Roush..
Kenseth has struggled to get full-time sponsorship the last two years.
Nationwide Series Champion Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. is expected to take over Kenseth’s Number 17 car next season.
Kenseth is expected to move to another team for next season– perhaps Joe Gibbs Racing who may put Kenseth in Joey Logano’s Number 20 car, or put Kenseth in a fourth Gibbs Racing team.
