Kenneth A. Benell
MADISON-Kenneth A. Benell, age 91, of Madison passed away on July 7, 2014, at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1922, in Minot, N.D., the son of Paul and Eleanor (Molden) Benell. Ken grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School. He was a proud 1st Lieutenant for the Eighth Air Force, 487th Bomb Group and piloted a B17 bomber based in England during World War II.
Ken spent most of his business life as a new car salesman. He loved to travel, was an avid reader, and took special joy in one-on-one conversations with his children the last couple years of his life while living with his daughter Mary.
He was married to Maxine (McGuigan) Benell for 30 years. He is survived by their children, Jo Ann Benell, Sue (Tony) Puccio, Thomas (Debbie) Benell, Rich Benell, Mary Christian, Janet (Mike) Brockmeyer, Terri (Mark) Matthews, Connie Benell and Julie (Charlie Burre) Benell; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Ken’s Agrace Hospice team and his VA Home-Based Primary Care team for their excellent care and compassion.
A private memorial service will be held.
