Keith “Rookie” Dederich
Keith “Rookie” Joseph Dederich, took his final walk to his eternal resting place on March 20, 2017.
He was born on January 16, 1949 to the late Donald Joseph and Helen (Weynand) Dederich. He graduated from Sauk-Prairie High in 1967 and enjoyed his comradery with his many teammates. He was very competitive in the many sports he participated in, with baseball being his most passionate. After high school Keith enlisted in the U.S. Navy from October 9, 1969 to October 2, 1971, receiving an honorable discharge. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan on the USS Oklahoma City. His time in Viet Nam was not easy, as it was not for many.
He is survived by his siblings, Sherri Steuber, Peg (Ron) Laubmeier, Ron (Jackie) Dederich and Kathy Galle. And many nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in law, Doug Steuber and Charlie Galle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. A visitation will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:15 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his name.
