Kayla Rose Konemann was born September 29, 1988 after a long, hot, dry summer. She was the daughter of Mark and Bonnie Konemann and granddaughter of Bud and Rose Konemann and Del and Shiela Zoellner. Kayla graduated with honors from Mauston High School in 2007. She was an active member of the Mauston High School band as a member of the flag squad. She continued her studies at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and graduated in the Spring of 2011 with a degree in business administration. This degree was befitting of Kayla because she enjoyed taking on projects, responsibilities, etc. She liked being in charge, maybe that came with being the oldest child. Since then Kayla has managed the Wild Fun Zone in Wisconsin Dells and was an assistant manager at Maurices in Tanger Outlet Mall.
Kayla enjoyed life…she was a fountain of energy and always willing to take on new adventures. In her short life she has been able to share her energies with her younger sisters, Becca and Ali, shop, take road trips with friends, play musical instruments, shop, attend concerts, play with our dogs, shop, travel, shop for shoes, zip line, camp, shop for purses, swim with dolphins, attend ball games, and shop. No matter where she was, she always greeted people and life with a big smile and bright eyes. She was a quiet soul with a strong faith and knew what was right and wrong.
Along her journey she had a few but very good friends. Dani and Kayla have been friends since kindergarten. Along the way, Jamie, Emily and Sarah have been a source of support, fun and adventure. And within the last year, Myles brought her many smiles. Myles was with her that night and is now in intensive care.
Kayla is survived by her parents, Mark and Bonnie; sisters, Becca and Ali; grandparents, Clarence “Bud” and Rose Konemann of Lyndon Station and Delbert and Shiela Zoellner of New Holstein, WI; aunts, Linda (Dennis) Heatley of Sycamore, IL, Brenda (Michael) Konemann of Waukesha, WI and Carol (Brian) Zoellner of Texas; cousins, Heather, Shannon (Andy), Casey (Shauna), Kristina (Michael) and Carl (JoAnna) as well as many special friends.
