Kathryn Joan Marotz

Madison Kathryn (Kathy) Marotz, age 65, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 29, 2014.

She was born March 25, 1949 in Portage, one of seven children of Alfred V. and Lorraine M. (Bornick) Marotz. She married the love of her life, Francis Stadele who preceded her in death in 2003.

Kathy loved spending time with family and friends, especially young nieces and nephews. She would go out of her way to make a holiday memorable. She and Fran loved to travel, taking many trips and cruises, visiting friends along the way. Kathy was a wonderful cook and entertainer, opening her home to family and friends especially on the fourth of July. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens at the Kenwood house. In more recent years Kathy enjoyed traveling and visiting the casinos with her special friend David and her sisters. She was a cheerful person, helping anyone in any way she could. When she entered a room it was rarely without a smile. She enjoyed attending mass at St. Peters and was grateful for her church family. Kathy made many dear friends in Madison.

Kathy is survived by her special friend, David Caves, Westfield; her mother, Lorraine Marotz, Westfield; five siblings, Angie Krueger, Westfield, Gerry Benner, Westfield, Mary (Bill) Piechowski, Red Granite, John (Bonnie) Marotz, Westfield, Steven Marotz, Westfield; brother-in-law, Ken Beutler, Westfield; Fran’s daughter, Genevieve and his granddaughter, Chantel; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, plus many, many very close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Stadele; her father, Alfred Marotz; a sister, Gertrude Beutler; brother-in-law, James Benner, and Fran’s son, Douglas Stadele.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue with Msgr. Charles Schluter presiding. (Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.) Visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
