Karen Anne Bobo
Karen A. Bobo, age 71, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 27, 2012. She was born on April 5, 1941 in Greensboro, PA, the daughter of Wilfred and Virginia (Halfin) Kramer. Karen graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan where she met her future husband, Dennis Bobo. They were united in marriage on June 12, 1965 at Mapletown Methodist Church in Greensboro, PA. She then went on to receive her graduate degree at West Virginia University. After graduating Karen and Dennis moved to the Madison area where they have lived since and raised their family.
Karen taught business and computers at Edgewood High School, MATC and McFarland High School. She also took time out to raise her family. She was a member of Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church and was very active in many groups there. She also loved to travel and visited her children around the country over the years. Most of all, her life centered around loving and supporting her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children: Brian (Teresa), Brent and Lisa Bobo; grandchildren: William, Samuel, Tristan, Kayla and Chloe; brother, Frank (Arlene) Kramer; sister, Leah (Steve) Martin; Uncle, Herman (Ruby) Halfin and many other relatives, friends and her entire church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church, 3705 N. Sherman Ave., with Rev. Suni Caylor officiating. Visitation will be held from, 4-7 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the church and also from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.
