K-9 unit assists with drug bust

The Whitewater Police Department K-9 Unit assisted with a traffic stop at the 100 block of N. Esterly Avenue on Feb. 25. Three people were arrested.

Police K-9 Boomer alerted officers, and the vehicle was searched. 

The driver, Michael R. Dekraai, of Waterford, Wisconsin, was arrested for possession of THC with intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of felony bail jumping, according to a release. Dakraai was also arrested for third offense operating while under the influence and failure to wear a seat belt. 

One passenger, Johnny C. Coggon, of Burlington, Wisconsin, was arrested for possession of THC with intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, the release said. 

A second passenger, Dylan J.M. Henze, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and was subsequently confined on a probation hold, police said.  

Approximately 51 grams of THC and 26 grams of psilocybin mushrooms were seized during the arrest.
