K-9 finds man who fled from traffic stop hiding in tree line
MADISON, Wis. — A Sun Prairie man was arrested Thursday night after fleeing from a traffic stop and trying to hide in a line of trees, officials said.
A State Trooper tried to stop the man’s vehicle on Highway 151 near North Greenway Road in the town of York, but the man fled from the vehicle, according to a release.
Dane County deputies and K-9 Utrix set up a perimeter to search for the driver in a field east of North Greenway Road around 9:30 p.m., officials said.
Utrix led deputies to a line of trees, where they found 53-year-old Louis J. Thornton trying to hide, according to the release.
Thornton was arrested on seven outstanding warrants, five of which are from Columbia County. He was also arrested on a tentative charge of resisting and obstructing.
