Judy L. Esser
Judy L. Esser, age 76, of Highland, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at her home.
Judy was born on March 15, 1941 in Highland to Francis “Pat” and LaVon (Olson) Watson. She was a 1959 graduate of the Highland High School.
Judy worked for Bell Telephone in Madison until she married Patrick Esser of Highland on May 21, 1960. They lived in South Beloit where she worked for Beloit Tool and then Beloit Sun Bed. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in South Beloit where she served as Altar Society President for two years.
Judy and Pat retired to Highland in 1996 where she was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church. Judy enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and friends, especially at local casinos or in Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy is survived by her husband, Pat of Highland; a son, Denny of Janesville; a daughter, Kelly Esser (Jeff Beighley) of Janesville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeanne Watson, Lois (Dan) Nankee and Patti (Joe) Richgels, all of Highland; a brother, Frank (Theresa) Watson of Highland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 6, 2017, at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church. Fr. Jim Murphy will officiate with burial in St. Philip’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Monday after 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Upland Hills Hospice, St. Philip Preservation Fund or the Highland Ambulance Service would be greatly appreciated.
Judy’s family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to her sister, Patti Richgels for her compassionate care during Judy’s illness.
