Josephine A. McIntosh
Josephine “Josie” A. McIntosh, age 79, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at home.
She was born in Janesville, on Feb. 12, 1935, the daughter of Clifford W. and Neva (Miller) Snyder. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1953 and the Mercy School of Nursing in 1956. Josephine married Neil E. McIntosh in 1957 and together they had 2 sons, Larry and Bob. She had been employed by St. Francis Hospital, Milwaukee, Mercy Hospital, Janesville, and later Thomas, Odlund, Gredler & Papadakos Orthopedic, the Rock County Farm, and General Motors Medical Clinic. She was an avid golfer, card player, Cubs, Packers, and Badger fan, and enjoyed attending numerous sporting events.
Josephine was a member of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Assoc., volunteered for the Rock County polling places, 4-H Fair, Breakfast Club at Adams Elementary School, Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., and Health Net. Josie was a caring and giving person with a smile for everyone.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Mary) McIntosh of Purcellville, VA; 2 grandchildren, John (Jenn) Clubb of Culpepper, VA, and Madi McIntosh of Purcellville, VA; 2 great grandchildren, Bailey and Natalie; a brother, Don (Sue) Snyder of Janesville; and 2 special nephews, Brad (Kelli) and Derek (Kari)Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Wayne Snyder.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 at Milton Lawns.
