Joseph E. Phetteplace, 74, of Avoca died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Clearview Home in Juneau. He was born July 13, 1938 the son of Oliver and Fern (Crary) Phetteplace. Joe worked at Lone Rock Milling. Joe married Nancy Lisney in 1962. He loved to hunt and fish, watch John Wayne, and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed mowing lawn and planting flowers. Joe was a kind man to all of those he met.
Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy, six children, Jill Billings of Avoca, Michelle (James) Duell of Avoca, Angie (Tom) McDougal of Portage, Scott Phetteplace of Avoca, Kathy (Vance) Cavannah of Arizona, John Cavannah of LaCrosse, several grandchildren, siblings: Gordon (Edith) Phetteplace of LaCrosse, Connie Phetteplace of Pittsville, Larry (Donna) Phetteplace of Texas, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, son Joe, and sisters Shirley Halverson and Jeanne McKinney.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 21, 2012 at 11:00 at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home in Muscoda, burial will follow in the Lone Rock Cemetery where military graveside rites will be provided. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers it is suggested donations be made to a trust for the family. The Godager Pratt Funeral Home of Muscoda is assisting the family with their arrangements.
