Joseph Polansky Jr, “Jose” to his friends and acquaintances, age 83, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Madison’s University Hospital. He was born in Binghamton, New York on August 13, 1931. Joseph was affiliated with Holy Spirit Church in Binghamton, New York. A graduate of New York’s Ithaca College, he earned an advanced degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Jose worked for Madison General Hospital as a Speech Therapist and later for the State of Wisconsin as the Health Occupations Consultant for South Central Wisconsin College System. He married in November, 1960 prior to his advanced studies.
His theater activities were extensive. He was well known in Madison. He worked with the Madison Theater Guild, UW Theater, Children’s Theater of Madison, and Oregon’s Straw Hat Players. He was featured in many commercials, print advertisements, and on radio. Theater was his life. He primarily acted on the stage, but was involved in the theater in all ways.

He is survived by one son, Joe Polansky, and two daughters Krista Polansky and Tana Polansky Maurer all of Madison. He has many nieces and nephews in Binghamton, New York. His sister’s children Randal (Joyce) Price and Karen (George) Harrelson and his great nephew, Ryan Price.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Romaine Price

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. when a Celebration of Life Service will begin at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705

Jose will rest both in Binghamton, New York and Madison.
