The memorial service for John W. Brockman Jr., 56, of Stewartville, MN. will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday (10-26-12) at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville with Rev. Wane Souhrada officiating. Mr. Brockman died Monday (10-22-12) at his home in Stewartville.

John William Brockman Jr. was born November 16, 1955 in Beloit, WI. to John and Janet(Phillips) Brockman. He moved with his family as a young boy to Mauston, where he attended school and graduated from Mauston H.S. in 1973. He attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse and graduated with a degree in accounting. He moved to Rochester, MN, where he was employed at Bridgeman’s Restaurant as their accountant. John was married on April 21, 1979 in Rochester to Peggy Schueller. Following their marriage the couple lived in Rochester and were later divorced. John was employed by ROTAB Corp. in Rochester where he was the financial controller for many years. He was co-owner of Sandy Point Supper Club on Lake Zumbro and then John Hardys Bar-B-Q in Rochester, before becoming the sole owner of John Hardys for the past 10 years. John was married on November 24, 2007 in Rochester to Audrey Betcher. Following their marriage they made their home in Stewartville. Audrey is Director at the Rochester Public Library. John was a member of the Stewartville United Methodist Church and was a 30 year member of the Northern Light Masonic Lodge # 81 in Mauston as well as being a member of the Masonic Lodge #203 in Stewartville. He was a longtime member of the Osman Shrine Center in St. Paul, MN. and was Potentate in 2011, was a member of the Jesters and Dragon Patrol, and he marched in hundreds of parades with his fellow Shriners. John was a past member of the Rotary Club of Rochester, was a longtime member of the Elks Club in Rochester and had recently joined the Stewartville Lions. John belonged to the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, serving as one of its Ambassadors for many years and was awarded Business of the Year in 2009 from the Rochester Chamber. John enjoyed playing golf and darts, going to the cabin at Castle Rock Lake, following the Packers and the Badgers and he especially enjoyed time spent with family.

Survivors include his wife Audrey; son John (Natasha) of Sun Prairie, WI.; daughter and son Nora and Karl Betcher of Stewartville; his mother – Janet Brockman of Mauston, WI.; three brothers – Thomas(Diane) Brockman of Highland, Ill.; James(Laura)Brockman of Wonewoc, WI.; Mark (Mandy) Brockman of Mauston, WI. and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father – John W. Brockman Sr.

Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday (October 25) at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville with a Masonic Service being held at 7:30 P.M. and 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Friday morning. A time of remembrance for John will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday (October 27, 2012) at the United Methodist Church in Mauston, WI. A private family burial will take place at Mauston Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Children – Twin Cities.
