John T. Parker
FT. MYERS, FLA/MADISON- John T. Parker of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Madison, WI, passed away on Aug. 29, 2013.
He was a true Southern gentleman, a man of great charisma and genuine warmth who was treasured by so many wonderful friends and family.
He was born in Morristown, Tenn., to Mozella Coffey and Walter Shields Parker, deceased. Two of his three brothers, Walter “Butch” Parker and Robert “Bobby” Parker are also deceased. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Mardi O’Brien Parker with whom he shared 21 fun-filled, action-packed years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Jean Ham, with whom he had two children, John Benjamin Parker of Oviedo, Fla., and Peggy Ball Cason, of Brentwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Leah Ball Steen of Seattle, Wash., Chris Parker of Brentwood, Tenn., Brian Parker of Memphis, Tenn., Taylor and Parker Cason of Brentwood, Tenn., and their father, James E. “Buzz” Cason; his great-grandchildren, Alanah Parker, Nashville, Tenn., and Piper and Romy Steen, Seattle, Wash.; a brother, James Dean Parker of Pikeville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The death of this great man leaves the world without one of its brightest lights, but his love will shine on us for as long as we live. A memorial will be held in Florida at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
