John F. Zielinski
John F. Zielinski, age 78 of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, in Winter Haven Hospital in Florida.
He was born in Blue Island, IL on June 14, 1938, the son of Felix and Anna (Lichaczewski) Zielinski. He married Janet Nielsen in 1965. He graduated from Adams Friendship HS where he played right halfback on the football team and set records in track. He later joined the WI National Guard for 6 years, while serving as sergeant. He held various union positions with IBEW 965, during the 33 years he was employed by WI Power & Light Co. He worked at various towns in Wisconsin, retiring from Beloit operations in 1994. Since retiring he had worked many part time jobs. For the past 11 years he has been employed by Hidden Valley Campground where he made so many friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending winters in Florida, and mostly spending time with family. He was a terrific husband and father and he left a lifetime of great memories for everyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; 3 children: Jeffery Zielinski of CA, Carey Zielinski of Marshfield, WI, and Renee Riemer of Janesville; 4 grandchildren: Joshua Zielinski, Alexis Riemer, Alison Riemer, Dalton Riggs; 2 great grandchildren, Harlem, Zaida; 3 siblings: Lucille Payne of Beloit, Frances Christofferson of Florida, David Zielinski of Milton; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Mary Laberge, and Theresa Hanson
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at the Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel.
