Joan M. Belken, 74, of Janesville died on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her home in Janesville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Joan was born on May 4, 1940 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank VanNatta and Margaret (Stark) VanNatta-Adickes. Joan graduated from Platteville High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Joseph Henry in February 1959. They had three children, Tamera, Kevin and Mary. Joseph preceded her in death in 1961.
Joan later married Eugene Belken in November 1974. She worked at Wisco Inc., Oregon, Wisconsin for many years retiring in 2002. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Belken; two daughters, Tamera Henry and Mary (Bob) Frusher; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Glorijean (Dennis) Blackburn; sister-in-law, Janice VanNatta; three step-children, Rockie (Mindy) Belken, Jacqueline (David) Pecor, and Melodie Comer and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kevin Henry, two sisters, Linda Gerber, Connie Udelhofen, and brother, Garlan VanNatta.
