MADISON/COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. — Jesse M. Gary, age 85, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Kindred Hearts. He was born on May 18, 1931, in Windber, Pa., the son of Alexander and Anna (Roza) Gary. Jesse graduated from Windber High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jesse married Delores Cogut on Oct. 20, 1951 in Detroit, Mich . He worked as a Computer Analyst for the major auto manufacturers in Detroit. Jesse was always active in the Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling and golf and loved to read. Most of all he loved going to sporting events with his grandchildren and nephews. Jesse is survived by his daughters, Jessica Grant, Debora Spencer, Cheryl Dettmann, and Andrea Parrott; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dr. Clifford Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; son, David Gary; and his brother, Ernest Gary. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Dr., Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, with Father Donn Heiar presiding.
