MADISON- Gerald “Jerry” Brown, age 73, of Madison, passed away peacefully with his two loving daughters by his side, on Monday, January 22, 2018.
He was born on December 1, 1944, the son of Herman and Inez (Rutherford) Brown. Jerry worked at Madison-Kipp Corporation for many years, in 1990, he started Jerry and Juanita’s Lawn service, owning and operating the successful lawn care business. He was a skilled card player, enjoying many nights and variety of games at the card table, with close friends and family. Jerry loved being a grandpa, the time spent visiting his grandchildren were cherished moments and memories never forgotten.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Janice Bedner and Juanita (Jeremy) Kranz; grandchildren, Ashley Bedner, Lyndsay, Samantha, Travis and Ethan Kranz; siblings, Judy Artz, Dorothy (Jim) Wahner, Barb Nelson, Sharon Knapp, Joe (Sally) Brown, and Jim (Betsy) Brown; and brother-in-law, Mike Maerz. He is further survived by Ruth McIntyre, Darhl Brown; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Reed and Anna Maerz; brothers-in-law, Stan Nelson, James Knapp, and Vern Artz; nephews, Scotty Owen, Jason McGuigan and Brad Knapp; niece, Debra Jo Brown; and special friend, Gail Stethem.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Friday, January 26, 2018, with Pastor Sandy Schieble presiding. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, from 12 noon, until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be held a Blooming Grove Cemetery.
