Jerome Michael Johnson, age 31 of Lancaster, formerly of Blanchardville died on Friday, June 29, 2012. He was born on June 8, 1981 in Monroe to David and Debra (Kainz) Johnson.

He grew up in rural Blanchardville with his parents where they lived until 1993 when the family moved to rural Lancaster. He went to the Pecatonica Grade School until the 5th grade when they moved to Lancaster, where he went to grade and high school, graduating in 2000. He went to Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore where he earned his associate degree in ag mechanics. He worked for Ritchie’s Implement in Cobb as an ag parts specialist. He was married on April 26, 2003 to Nicole Graney in the Saint Clement’s Catholic Church in Lancaster. Jerome loved working on cars, paintballing, snowmobiling, boating, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his sons and family.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Nicole Johnson of Lancaster; two sons, Jayden and Owen Johnson of Lancaster; his parents, David & Debra Johnson of Blanchardville; his brother, John (Marley Lindsey) Johnson of Monroe; his maternal grandmother, Joanne Kainz of Blanchardville; his nephew, Ethan Johnson of Monroe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lance & Valerie Mish of Cassville; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leo Kainz, his paternal grandparents Harold & Bonnie Johnson; his cousin, Craig Hughes; and two uncles, Robert and Harold Johnson.

A visitation for Jerome Johnson will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville with a prayer service at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the church. Fr. Thomas Gillespie will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Blanchardville. A funeral lunch will be served at the Dobson-Johnson American Legion Post in Blanchardville. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family.
