Jean L. Fischer
MIDDLETON-Jean L. (Miller) Fischer, age 87, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 at Heritage Memory Care of Middleton.
She was born on March 13, 1927, in Maplewood, New Jersey, the daughter of George and Anna (Bethel) Miller. Jean was united in marriage to Milton Fischer on January 3, 1951 in Maplewood, New Jersey. She graduated from Milburn High School in New Jersey and furthered her education at the State Teachers College in Jersey City, NJ. Jean taught for 6 years in Summit, NJ and for 4 years in Como Park, St. Paul, MN.
Jean spent 23 summers at Ocean Grove where she enjoyed her passion for swimming. She moved to Middleton 46 years ago and worked for several years with CDI (Child Development, Inc.). She was a member of Middleton Community Church for 24 years and an active choir member. She was a member at Asbury United Methodist Church for 22 years. Jean was also active with 4H and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Milton; children, Wendy (Mike) Kohn, Peter (Monica) Fischer; two grandchildren, Alexander and Grant Fischer and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Verna Anderson and Leona Kellstrom.
Funeral services will be held at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 6101 University Ave., Madison at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, with the Reverend Harold Zimmick presiding. Burial will be in Middleton Junction Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton from 4 PM until 6 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
